Vortex Springs produces 28 million gallons of gin clear water daily at a year round temperature of 68 degrees with no thermo cline. Diving Gear for basic snorkeling thru technical deep diving equipment is available at the dive shop Check the Vortex Springs website for rental and diving fees. Parking is a short distance from the four walk-in and one floating docks. The spring basin is 50 feet deep at the mouth of a large cavern. There are two artificial caves, that are open at both ends, providing training and fun for divers who are not yet cavern/cave certified.
The Swimming area slopes gently from shallow to deeper water. There's a diving board, a high jump platform, 2 swimming pool sized slides, and the favorite, an old fashioned rope swing.

Two lodge buildings are located in the campground which offer excellent informal lodging for  large groups on a co-ed basis. The third and newest, Grandview lodge, offers great looking high quality rooms with a fantastic view of the spring. Vortex Spring also has campsites with picnic tables, grills, water, and electricity. Pets are not allowed with exceptions made for interstate travelers. Small ground fires are permitted. There are sites with sewer facilities & an RV dump station, as well as modern bathrooms & showers. Basketball, volleyball & hiking trails are bonus features for no additional cost.
